Twice a year we cancel the Sunday service and take the whole Beyond family to the park for a morning of food, games and rest. Sunday 12 July is the next one, and everyone is welcome, including the kids and anyone you would like to bring.
The Details
- What: A relaxed community picnic with a free BBQ. No program, no talk, just time together.
- When: Sunday 12 July, from 10am, for a couple of easy hours.
- Where: John Oxley Reserve, Ogg Rd, Murrumba Downs. Look for us near the playground.
- Cost: Free. We cook the sausages and bring the water.
What to bring
Just a camp chair or a picnic blanket. We will handle the food. If your kids like wheels, the park has great paths for scooters and bikes.
For the kids
The playground is one of the best on the northside. It sits under big shady trees, with a climbing fort, swings and a separate toddler area with a little dragon slide. There are six animal carvings hidden around the play area, so set the kids the challenge of finding the owl, the koala and the rest.
Bring a friend
This is the simplest Sunday of the year to invite someone to. There is no service to explain and nothing to opt into, just a friendly morning in a lovely park. Invite a neighbour, a workmate or another family and make a morning of it.
