The writers of the New Testament consistently pointed out that Jesus's primary role was a king who had come to establish God’s kingdom on earth. Not to rescue people out of the world, but to transform the world itself. And everyone is invited to participate in it. Not someday in heaven, but right now in their families, workplaces and communities.
